SYMPHONY OF THE ELECTRONS is a 30-minute immersive multimedia performance created by the artist Huichuan Wang in close coordination with the Herbert W. Franke Foundation in the London based Goldsmiths University research project HWF Goes AI. It is based on Herbert W. Franke’s iconic generative photographs from the 1950s, which were brought to “life” by Huichuan Wang using artificial intelligence trained by these early digitized works. Artistic curators are Prof William Latham (Goldsmiths University) and Dr Rachel Falconer (Head of Subject for Creative Technology, Goldsmiths University). The work is part of the event series HERBERT W. FRANKE 100. The 30 minutes performance —featuring an Overture, 10 Movements, and a Coda— runs in a continuous loop and is open to the public at St. James’ Church over the weekend from 9 AM to 6 PM.
The opening of the performance for invited guests takes place on Friday, February 4, 2027.
The premiere performance on Friday, February 4, 2027, 2 – 4 PM is by invitation only.
