The Foundation congratulates the Winners of the Janus Award 2025
The winners of the ten categories including a Lifetime Achievement Award were announced yesterday night. Felix Niemayer and Fairlix won the Janus of the Fulldome Festival Jena, category “Best New Talent”. We are proud that our “CONTACT ATTEMPT – celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Arecibo Message” was the origin of this work titled “REPLY”. It had won the third prize of CONTACT ATTEMPT in November. Congrats to Felix and Fairlix – and we also warmly congratulate all other winners, especially Sergey Prokofyev on another award! The master of the fulldome universe can now add a new prize to his large number of trophies. This year he won in the “Best Art and Experiment” category with his magnificent elegiac short film Eternal Habitat about being human in time and with sound by congenial Aurélien Bello.

Not only were the winners honored at the three days festival. There were lectures and plenty of fulldome productions to experience. Susanne Päch was present in the lecture program at the three-day Fulldome Festival in the Jena Planetarium and presented the CONTACT ATTEMPT foundation project showing additional finalist works.
