Archived Memories of the Generative Art Summit
+++ Welcome Evening for the summit’s gestes of honor
+++ Preview “Illuminating the Invisible”, Franke’s solo show at König Galerie St. Agnes
The starting point for the guests of honor was the small welcome reception at Cafe West Berlin, where the participants also made a detour to the adjacent König Gallery St. Agnes.
There, participants have already been able to see a preview of the solo show “Illuminating the Invisible” with an overview of Herbert W. Franke’s work. Until September 1, pictures from the generative photography work period 1953-192 will be shown, but also the serigraphy displayed at the Biennale in 1970, whose best-known motif is the “squares”. Last but not least, works of Math Art will be on display in large transparent light boxes. Two works from Franke’s “Color Series” are on display for the first time in the world. They were created in 1962 at the end of the work phase with generative photography. They have now been digitized by the foundation and brought onto the market in a small series especially for this exhibition.
